Analysis of Forgotten Beneath A Darkened Sky
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
The sky,
A dark bruise
Hung above us,
SIlent
And unforgiving.
You moved,
A storm
That tore through my heart,
Leaving fragments
Of love,
Of longing,
Scattered in its wake.
I tried to piece them together,
But the puzzle remained
Incomplete.
Your touch,
A whisper,
Lingering on my skin,
Haunting
Every inch of me.
We were tangled in the night,
Lost
In the ups and downs
Of desire,
But now,
We are nothing but
Driftwood,
Washed upon distant shores,
Forgotten by the sea.
