Analysis of I WILL BE A TREE
I will be a TREE- The plant having a permanent woody trunk
Growing to an extraordinary height but grounded in the dirt is where I’m sunk
I will be a TREE-That withstands all kinds of weather
Enduring through all the seasons of nature
Adapting to the climate change but the core of who I am remains the same
I will be a TREE- Trees tell stories for centuries
And branch out genealogies because of their longevity
I will be a TREE- Which branches that the wise old owl sits in
Dropping gems on my children’s children
I will be a TREE- I was given the nickname because of my physical make up
Yet it means I will never stay down but am destined to rise up
I will be a TREE- Even the ones that hung strange fruit of my ancestry
Souls that died to be free from slavery
I will be a TREE- Planted by the waters which spreads out its roots by the river
And does not see when the heat comes
I will be a TREE- My leaves are green, never having drought
Because my trust is and is in Yahweh and it is HIM I do not doubt.
I will be a TREE- That is where Elohim gave his life as the ultimate sacrifice
Shredding his blood for the remission of sin
And with my belief in him I know I am forgiven
So proudly I except the comparison
Because being a TREE bears a profound reputation.

About this poem
I wrote this poem from a nickname I was given in high school " TEENA TREE". I was inspired to liken myself to a tree and display the significance of trees according to nature, scriptures, and history.
