Texas Lone Star
Yes, you finally did do it
And on your own, you claimed it
You rode your own roller coaster ride
And sailed thru the high and rough tides
You grasped opportunities you could
Risked and took on chances, as you should
You gave our nerves, a test of their lives
Now we know that you can self-survive
We are really happy with your achievements
As they were truly your own accomplishments
You’ve been quite different from the start
Independent, headstrong and smart
No dolls, no dresses with frills
Even makeup did not give you any thrills
Glad to see some changes though few
From sweet 16 to adult 18 now are you
Your creative naughty and fun
Bringing out the wild in everyone
Your new chapters now await to be written
on how Baylor has had you all smitten
Let know if the Waco heat gets dauntless
when one forgets their sunscreen n sunglasses
Inform us on new acquaintances you make
and all of the decisions you plan to take
Including the colorful drinks you buy
or the nasty savory food trucks you try
Go on and explore your new life
Just stay focused and enjoy your ride
Touch the hearts of all you meet
Humans, the 2 bears, oh so sweet!!
We are not too far away from you
Believe your heart if you want it true
A frequent call and video chat at times
Will bring us content and happy minds
No matter what life throws at you
We are always here to see you thru
So a Congrats and Farewell dear mate
You will be our lone star of the Texas state
