Twiddling

Tabitha J. Bryson 1973 (Indianapolis, Indiana)

Waiting on the rain to fall
waiting for the phone to ring
just sitting here waiting
waiting for almost everything.
Time steadily falls away
while I'm waiting here
waiting on what exactly
my mind is no longer clear.
Grounded by the fog
but the waiting still continues
round & round an endless charade
for whatever fills you.
Unfortunately for me
my time has passed
I am no longer waiting
dead on my ass.
I gave up before
whatever could get to me
a blind eye, a deaf ear
suspended reality.
No longer waiting
so deep in my grave
finally at total peace
so silence the knave.
Blissful oblivion
I now know nothing
better luck next time
wouldn't that be something!
Choosing the difference
should you stay or should you go
is a new found responsibility
of life's ebb & flow.
Back out anyway!
Be yourself & stand alone
you are your only responsibility
the only heir to that throne.
Countdown 'till the end
no skipping along the way
instead slow down & take your time
twiddle both night & day.
Waste your life if you wanna
your life is yours anyway
fill it up or toss it about
makes no difference what they say.
Live your life in a blaze of glory
or twiddle about until the end
makes no never mind to the universe
they'll just cycle you through, again.
