She was broken

Tonie Pate 1975 (California)

As I feel the rain touch my skin I realize its not tears running down my face anymore. I'm free from your hold on me no more tears of sorrow will be coming out of my beautiful blue eyes. I was broken and I couldn't fly for years you kept me hidden from the world thinking if you kept me and hurt me I would stay. But one day I saw the sunshine coming threw the window so I open it up and open my wings I flew to freedom I didn't see how beautiful I was until I flew that day. I was scared that I couldn't do it But everyday this beautiful song bird sings and flies like there ain't no tomorrow.
