Sheen.

When intimate lighting softened the room
she looked at the mirror and noticed
the shimmer of light in her iris.
It was as if tiny fairies danced for her;
the baby was fascinated.
Her baby blue cardigan lay against her
satin hands ready to be accepted.
Birthed amidst ruins, she felt the blazing cold throughout her dopplegangerness.
She laughed too, uncontrollably,
for her birth wasn't meant to be.
