The love struggle
Tiffany Bardling 1988 (Usa)
I closed my mouth and spoke to you
in a hundred silent ways.
Searched your eyes, held you in my hands, can you hear what I can't say?
I opened my mouth and spoke the truth, petrified that you wouldn't stay.
Like Many times, over and over,
Past people walked away.
Your dark so deep and creeping
My light, blinding, seeping.
What's this balance we both sought.
Holding back, we tried and fought.
Can we find that peace we need?
That Peace at heart, that pain set free.
I know too well, that pain you keep.
From haunting dreams to sleepless weeks.
We can't protect ourselves completely
from the lessons we need deeply.
Consciously aware
of what no one else sees.
Their toxic energy
like a contagious disease.
What is the reason? What is the point?
Perspective is key, sir, roll another joint?
My love for you grows deeper
With each passing day.
My hope that my sunshine
Can clear your stormy clouds away.
Don't give in to your dark
before my light gets the chance
To show you a reason, a point
To life's beautiful dance.
I feel that love you try to deny.
In your touch, in your kiss, in that look in your eye.
I see the world that you deserve to live,
Happy, content, with offsprings, yes... kids.
I want to give you that.
If you would let me.
Does that freak you out?
Please love, forgive me.
I missed so much the first time around.
And when I see you, new life abound.
So yes please, Tattoo my skin,
f*ck tattoo my soul.
Make me colorful and make me whole.
Scar me with your hands, inked gloves.
with your Beautiful, creative, everlasting love.
