The liberals

gregg connolly 1956 (pennsylvania)

The liberals

The liberals are done, are done, are done
Can’t even deliver a measly crumb
A simple example is all i need, I am sure
The drug price fiasco is 20 years or more

Poverty and violence they refuse to feel
“Swear by God, we have brought it to heel”
Get educated, don’t stop, or you will be a flop
Pre- school,Tech school, funding not copped
“We are looking into the matter, we assure of that”
In truth all peasant matters  are as cold as a dead rat.

“Hey, hey hey wait a minute” The market is way crushing it
“Surely we had our hand in it” Their deft agent will surely spin it
The proof is in the pudding, just look, all can see,
Precariat worker, harried family and collapsing society
“Not our fault” “Not our fault”  “not our fault” “not our fault”........

About this poem

How has the democratic party not delivered for the people since 1982 when they decided to take money from business and shoo away the workers and then substituted identity politics as there politicacal tenet since business ad bought them a profligate life in dc
