This thing called love

Audrey Cook 1955 (Los Angeles)

I saw a piece of glowing light
floating alight
and it flew until it was out of sight
And i looked op above
this thing, called love
its in a whisper of a song
in the emotion that you hold
all day long
this thing called love
holds you
when you sleep at night
its in the air you breathe
its the joy
at the end of your sleeve
all the happy bread crumbs
that you leave
this thing called love
takes you to places
that you have never known
and tells you
that you're not alone
this thing called love
drives you crazy
and never leaves you alone
this thing called love
can make your emotions weep
when you're crossing the street
fills you with insecurities and doubt
because you're afraid
to let it out
this thing called love
you have to watch out
be careful so careful
when you let it out
shelter yourself
from dry eyes and drought
this thing called love
is waiting
without a doubt
