The False Prophet
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
If a prophet or a dreamer,
Gives you a sign or a wonder;
They could just be as a schemer
In making your mind to wander.
A sign or wonder comes to pass,
Wants you to go another path;
For going through the looking glass,
Unknowingly to feel the wrath.
You shall not listen that is heard,
The prophet or dreamer of dreams;
For they do not speak a true word,
Only speaking of what blasphemes.
The Lord your God is testing you,
To see if you do love the Lord;
And if your heart and soul are true,
Whether He is loved and adored.
Walk after the Lord our God,
Fear Him and keep His commandments;
Obey as you honor and laud,
Serve and honor His achievements.
Prophets and dreamers will see death,
They were being taught to rebel;
Purged by the Lord of their last breath,
And then being tossed into hell.
