Just a mirage!

Ushasi Sarkar 2001 (India)

I am afraid to kiss,
I am scared to hug,
I am anxious to touch you
I am, I will be.

My heart might melt
My body might swoon
My voice might sound desperate
My mind might get blank.

What if you leave me?
What if you wither away?
What if you reject me?
What if you and I are not meant.?

Forget me
forgive me!
For I can't fall
for I can't fill.

I am a void
who is like a bubble.
I am just a hope
for your's and mine.

About this poem

What if a person who wants to be engulfed in the arms of his or her lover, is too scared to dream of that warmth?
