Mask

MASK

Another day to put my mask on.

Maybe this time around I won't have to take it off.

It suddenly feels like they all can see what's behind it.

A broken soul beyond repairs.

Suddenly feels like the world can see those hidden scars.

Another day to put my mask on.

Where all is hidden,

most importantly, where pain is hidden.

Where scars are invisible.

Hidden yet bleeding.

Maybe this is all I have,

yes it's all I have because behind it lies fear,

depression, pain and bleeding scars.

Another day to smile.

To smile and hide those scars.

To smile and keep going,

because it's all I have to do.

Every day is a new day to put my mask on

About this poem
