Motherhood

Motherhood

The joys of motherhood
O how generous you are
You welcome yourself in all families
And present yourself at every doorstep

But how can you do all these without providing a manual?
How can you bring us these blessings without teaching us the rules of parenting?
It is true they say
Anyone can be a mom
But not everyone is a mother

But sometimes you maybe cruel
Blessing some and leaving the others
When will you put a smile on their faces?
To relieve them of their agony and misery

How can we forget the gifts you’ve blessed us with?
The pain of nine months finally extracted from the tiny holes of young women
Who knew the power a woman possesses?
The strong power of reproduction!
I hope one day women are recognized and honored
And finally reap the fruits of their hard labor

Motherhood I forgot to say
The babies are now adults
Adults who obey the teachings of their mothers
I know you’d wonder how we did it
Well, we figured it out in our own way

We finally discovered the manual
That manual you never gave us
It was difficult of course but here we are
The parental guide that was a mystery
But who knew it wasn’t hard to find if only we had asked earlier?

Now our work is finished
The duties of parenting are finally over
With grey hairs on my hair and wrinkles on my face
I’m smiling while writing this piece to you as I leave behind a legacy

Thank you for the courage and the trials
It made me a good mother
The fight of motherhood has finally been completed
At least I can breathe my last breath
As I write the rules on tabloids
To leave for generations to come
