The Lost Navigator

Star of the night,
Shiny and bright.
High and gemmy,
Could you guide me?

Through this dark sea,
I cannot see,
You, far away,
Show me the way.

Lost in my trip,
Please guide my ship,
You, star of night,
Lighten my sight.

About this poem

I have a great passion for the astronomical navigation. I have been always amazed by the idea that; little men sailed across immense oceans by using the celestial bodies as their only guide. One night, one bright star took my attention, I kept looking at it, and I imagined the navigators looking at it through their sextons to find their way. This is how the inspiration for this poem came.
