the monster inside me

I have a monster that lives in my brain a vicious vile thing that whispers poisonous treasonous thoughts intruding into my every waking moment this thing never sleeps only grows stronger as I attempt to open my doors and allow sunlight into the crypt of my existence I talk to the thing trying to appease it to make cease the endless susurrations the dark poison it leaks like ink onto the canvas of my reality I paint with bright colors trying to hide the stains but there is not enough turpentine to clean the soiled ruination
