There is Something.

In Us, there is Something, Something,
Like a spell inevitable and strong;
In Us, there is this Thing, this Thing
Which can never profane'd be, or be prove'd wrong.

In Us there is Something, Something,
Only for Us, like hearth and fire;
In Us, there is this Thing, this Thing,
A symbol which sounds of Eternity inspire.

In Us, there is Something, Something,
Which forces universal can not deny;
In Us, there is this Thing, this Thing,
For which belovèd Jesus did cry.

In Us there is Something, Something,
For which four winds marry eachother;
In Us, there is this Thing, this Thing,
For which the Babe is born to its mother.

In Us there is Something, Something,
Which nettles like light within leaves;
In Us there is this Thing, this Thing,
Absolute naked like thread one weaves.

In Us there is Something, Something,
That shares the chamber with Husband lord;
In Us there is Thing, this Thing,
Align'd with love in eyes of God.

In Us there is Something, Something,
Made from dust of seven arcs;
In Us, there is this Thing, this Thing,
Liberal , fighting like the lift of larks.

In Us there is Something,Something,
Unreachable yet nie like golden cloud.
In Us there is this Thing, this Thing,
Soft like feather, like firths pounding loud.

In Us there is Something,Something,
The Substance of the divine banquet,
In Us there is this Thing, this Thing,
One in all, and all in One thus set.

About this poem

I was listening to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and thought about the wordy version of his melody: hence the poem.

Jasmine Saini

I am pursuing B.A. English Honours from MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh. My love for poetry and poetic compositions began early in life. I began penning poems in class Eleven, in High school. My first collection of poems was titled ‘Pegasus'. As a naturalist I love to dwell solitary in nature, observing the surroundings and contemplating on many a mysteries of life. My style is often archaic and I have a passion for words and love to experiment with diverse metres and structures. The philosophic content of my poem is introspective and sometimes light hearted. It takes the reader on an emotional journey of the poet's experience. I will continue to write and find expression through my poems in reader's heart. more…
