The confusion of death

Death doesn’t scare me
Closing your eyes
Getting some rest
Some final peace…

Not knowing what’s gonna happen
Where you’ll be.
Some say in Heaven
Some say in the ground

Do we have a soul?
Or are we just living organisms
With nothing more than a brain controlling us
Our emotions and feelings…

Do we even really exist?
Or are we all a peace of something bigger?
A pawn in a much bigger game
A project of an Alien sitting on its shelf?

We don’t know
We won’t ever know..
And if we don’t know what’s gonna happen
Why should I be scared?

About this poem

It’s a poem I wrote after having a discussion with someone about whether you should be afraid of death, and what comes after death.
