The Sunbeam

Mary Ann Lautier 1951 (Tarxien)

                    THE SUNBEAM
A tiny sunbeam reaches my room,
And I wonder, how this distance found me
Is this just a common instance?
Or is it a gift Divine?

How can I choose,
Amidst life's confusion,
My mind says, 'It's stupid to ponder',
My heart says 'Consider this beauty',

A sudden warmth hits my heart,
And the answer I do know,
My mind is clear and free,
Every single moment is a gift Divine.

About this poem

This poem I wrote for my sister, who was in hospital during that time, just to give her courage to continue striving to get better.
