The light

Kelia Conner 1989 (Akron)

Heart flutters
Time stops
The wind whisps past my ear
The light grows brighter
In the distance I hear
A sweet voice whispering sweet nothings in my ear
The darkness that was here
Slowly starts to disappear
Your voice
The such sweet sound of sorrow is but a whisper
As your voice grows louder
The light grows brighter
Is this it?
Is this the one?
I see your hand
Reach out for mine
And just like that
There was time

About this poem

I just recently broke up with my fiance and the same day I met somebody new and I've been talking to him and I hadn't written anything in 5 years until just the other day. Hope you enjoy it
