Trapped Potential: A Cautionary Tale in Verse
Mawphniang Napoleon 1993 (Ri Bhoi)
My Dearest, Listen Close, For This is True,
Of Things You Will Regret, Through and Through.
Your Potential, Trapped Behind Opinions Bled,
Of Strangers, Who Shall Never Know Your Wreath.
In Life, Your Dreams and Aspirations Stand,
With Branches High, Reach For The Sky's Demand.
Yet, Those With Weakness and Insecurity,
Their Thoughts, Your Dreams Shall Ever Impede.
Their Words Shall Cut Your Wings, No Room to Fly,
Your Confidence Shaken, You Cower and Die.
Your Fire Doused, Your Will To Live Extinct,
Their Shadows Haunting, Your Life Neglect.
Remember, Life Is Short, It Doth Not Wait,
For You To Live In Moments, Not Just Dates.
Waste Not Your Time In Thoughts That Dwell The Past,
For Memories Haunt, And Keep Your Mind Cast.
Surround Yourself With Those Who Love and Care,
Who Lift You Up, Who Show You They're There.
Your Family, Never Neglect, They Need,
Your Love, Your Strength, Your Very Deed.
And Take Risks, Brave Heart, For This Is Life,
Where Nothing Ventured, Nothing Shall Be Thrived.
Embrace The Unknown, Face Every Foe,
For Regrets Are Worst, When You Do Not Know.
So Hear Me Well, My Dearest One, My Friend,
Your Life Is Yours, To Live And Love, To Mend.
Do Not Allow Your Dreams To Slip Away,
For Regrets Are Dark, And Will Haunt You Day.
