Marinda

"Marinda, Marinda! Hello miss how are you?"
A fine lad from across the street yelled for her attention,
With her skin as copper as a brown horse, and eyes of the ocean; so blue!
She spun around, only to see it was the farmer's son, Michael Henson!

Michael had just moved back into the neighbourhood recently,
A simple guy, hardly much ever rolled off his tongue,
Marinda waved a hello back, and with her eyes filled with glee,
"Welcome back, my dear" happily, she sung.

For she, Marinda, has always had a special place in his heart,
Delighted, he Michael had certainly known it's her, she is the one,
To Marinda, his Marinda from the other side of the street he did dart,
From that moment onwards Michael and Marinda would hang out, a ton.

As time flew by, hours to days, days to months, months to years Micheal and Marinda were still a thing,
Then came a day, where Marinda was stunned, as he got on his knees and pulled out a ring!

Hajra Abdul-Razzak

Hello, my name is Hajra Abdul-Razzak, I was born in and grew up in the Caribbean island of Barbados, I grew up in as a Muslim in middle class family, and later on in my life I left the religion of Islam because I realized it wasn't for me, and I wanted to try out new things. My love for writing started when I was a little child, I remember falling in love with reading the dictionary most evenings when I returned home from school, and so from then on I'd learn new words and read other books to get a grasps on how things were done, moving onto my teenaged years, I remember completely falling in love with English Literature and especially Shakespare, I would re read all of my literate books as I got home just for fun. And still today, writing brings me great joy! I would go to sleep late / wake up early on mornings whenever I am free, to write and rewrite just to get the perfect poem, I'd spend days out in nature, again whenever I am free just writing, it's an art that always brings a smile to my face, even when I am sad, I'd get to portray my feelings as words and always feel better after sometime! Haha! I'm a writer, I go by the name of Hai Daze, and at this moment in time, I'm into writing poems and short stories as well, and I'm delighted to share my stories with you on your platform, I sincerely do hope you enjoy! more…
