Jerry
I wanted you years before you were a thought so my first born I loved you right from the start long before I knew you.
I carried you in my belly so close under my heart and delighted in feeling you grow. I wished upon a shooting star for a son and God sent me the perfect one. I carried you in my arms until your little feet took off on their own. The most precious gift under the sun I had. I did my best to raise you on my own with little help here and there. You and me we were the perfect pair. I gave you and your siblings anything you wanted for the best life. You and me, we got put to the test and where you should of been living your best life, with God my soul was ripped from my chest when you were put back to rest. I love you none the less and forever I shall carry you, this time in my heart beneath my breast feeling you close til my time to be put to rest.
About this poem
I longed to be a mom since I was kid, so when I finally was able to have my first child, I actually wished on a shooting star for a son, and we were extremely close. I was a single mom working 3 jobs with 5 kids, unfortunately Years later he and I got messed up in drugs, although we both got clean my son relapsed one night after 7yrs, it was fentanyl laced and he died instantly. I wished he would of reached out before turning back to old habits because The pain of losing my child has been devastating. I try to use our story, my words to teach others to get clean and seek help because what they leave behind if they die is much worse than going through rehab with their families. more »
