My Endless Prayer

I have traveled this road of life for the last 31 years,
Filled with twists and turns and an endless amount of tears.
I’ve felt heartbreak so low that my heart came out of my chest,
and I’ve felt a happiness so pure that from God I was truly blessed.

I have chased fairytale dreams that just never have come to life,
and I have conquered my darkest demons that cut deeper than the blade of a knife.
I have succeeded on this path through my many tests and trials,
and I have failed so many times but even then still chose to smile.

Many things have changed as I’ve journeyed through this lifetime,
I even catch my self reminiscing on the past in some of my downtime.
Sometimes I wish I could travel back in time and change what caused anxiety,
and other times I wish I could re-live those beautiful precious memories.

I tried to live life to where I never took a single thing for granted,
and treasured each and every moment that felt so enchanted.
I thought I succeeded in doing so until life brought me to this stage,
and now more than ever I wish I could turn back my story’s page.

I would turn back the page to feel those moments just a little more deep,
because now I am under life’s control and for that my heart truly weeps.
When your everyday life becomes affected by things beyond your own control,
it feels as though your failing and no longer know what it feels like to be whole.

I still see my blessings and forever cherish those in which I was gifted,
and I believe that God never gives us more than we can handle even in the unexpected.
I believe this journey can only grow my strength further than I even know,
and that God will guide my path even in the darkness a new light he will bestow.

I pray for all of the guidance through all of my endless prayers,
and for all of the things that trouble me to vanish because I know he hears.
I pray for healing of the things that are beyond all of my control,
for my spirits to be uplifted and for me to be able to conquer each one of my goals.
