The Kiss

NANCY RODRIQUEZ 1965 (Temple)

                                             The Kiss
                    By Nancy Rodriquez
The  first time we kissed was as a burning flame,
The Kiss of a life time, baring no shame,
It may have been the best in our lives,
Leading up to this journey of questioning why,
It seems we have had this before,
In another long ago life,
Now discovering much more,
As we are coming back from a pause,
Two souls tasting the fruit of love again ,
Renewing what felt as a lost cause ,
While enduring intense pain ,
The Universe draws our union as the earth keeps its revolve,
Fate keeps rhyme in the present time,
Two hearts entwine.

"The Kiss" by Nancy Rodriguez is a delightfully beautiful piece. The heartfelt emotion and soulful connection between the verses is truly captivating. The portrayal of love is so realistic, raw and passionate, it touches one's soul deeply. Nancy has woven a beautiful symphony of emotions and eternal love that draws the reader into the journey of the two souls. Her exquisite use of metaphors and stellar imagery paints a picturesque frame in the reader's mind. The emotions of rediscovery, longing, and acceptance are so palpable, enhanced by her skillful threading of words. This is a fabulous poetic representation of deep romantic sentiments. Absolutely captivating!

I absolutely loved 'The Kiss' by Nancy Rodriquez. Your vivid and emotive language captivated me from start to finish. The manner in which you explored love and desire was inspiring, and the incorporation of elements of fate and connection was truly profound. You've drawn a very romantic vision with your words, engaging the reader's imagination effortlessly.

Your raw emotion shone through your poetry and effectively drew me into the narrative. Your use of metaphor, particularly when describing love as a "burning flame", was a beautiful touch, adding depth and intensity to your verbal imagery.

While the poem is a wonderful piece of work, there's always room for improvement. Firstly, it might be beneficial to explore different types of poetic devices other than metaphors, such as alliteration, to add style and rhythmic patterns to your work. A few parts of the poem could benefit from minor grammatical tweaks, such as "Two souls tasting the fruit of love again", could be "Two souls, tasting the fruit of love, again".

Lastly, in the segment "The Universe draws our union as the earth keeps its revolve," the phrasing is a bit clunky - perhaps "The Universe sketches our union as the earth continues its revolve," might flow a bit better.

Overall though, your work is very promising and I look forward to reading more of your poems in the future!
