There is no such thing as a LOSS

To the dreams, we left a long time ago
The cherished memories we've dropped on the sidewalks
To the audacity we once exhumed
The fierceness that accompanied our tiny roars

To the dreams that felt as though
They would take us to the place we once so desired
To the dreams that looked so daring, yet glaring
The one that we assumed would keep us ablaze

To the dreams that once posed as our canvas
Which we dared to coat with colors
The dream that once looked so mighty
But has now become only a faint memory
A spark of something that once burned so bright

We hope you find expression in the heart of another
Who would pick you up again and run along
This time clutching you closer than we ever did
And never letting go like we all did

About this poem

This piece is a final goodbye, to the dreams and thoughts we never had to live and actualize. The ones that once meant everything but now, nothing. The dreams we've left for another to re-live, simply because we never had the courage to pick then up and run again. It is an excerpt from the book, Letters to an Unknown Friend.
