The beast

THE BEAST

my skin is cold, an empty shell.
deep inside the rise it smells,
of searing flesh, a burning hell.
the smoke escapes, the story tells,

something different in my eyes.
what you see are all my lies.
a million dreams, too many tries,
all end in screams and then they die.

the hope decays, defeat with dust.
its in my face, for love i lust.
i break the pace, i fake the trust,
to feed the game, i save the bluff.

my soul is black and always weak.
it slowly cracks like autumn leaves.
and now its back, i feel it creep.
my brain is packed, wont let me sleep.

the cold consumes and cripples me.
i smell the fumes, i cannot breathe.
from the tomb the stench is free.
right from the womb, here comes the beast.

i strike the match and pour the gas.
the beast sits back and starts to laugh.
i drink the gas and eat the match.
the beast falls back and starts to gasp.

he cant get free, no, not again.
i kno down deep, we're really friends.
the talk is cheap, our chances slim,
cuz he is me and i am him.

this time its right, i found my hope.
it burns inside, inside my throat.
"look in my eyes", i hold him close.
i hold him tight, then kill us both.
