Letter To Nature
Ebuka Stephen 2002 (Anambra state)
Dear nature my dearest companion,
You have been my guide.
You have nurtured me right from my months old,as a foetus in the womb. And even now in my years old,as a well grown infant,I still seek ur care and nurture,a bond we have tied for life, like the placenta that then tied me to my mother.
I know you have a message to relay.let me learn from you.whenever I feel proud hearted, remind me of man's smallness in the grand scheme of things.&
Whenever I chop down a tree without replacement, recall to my intuition that I'm scarring your form of existence, which can sever the bond we share.
My inspiration and my friend, you have known me right from when the neural crest formed my conscious center and you have shown me wonder through the Sunset and Storms. And even through forest and Seas, you have held me in awe of your mystery and majesty.
You are my teacher and I am but a humble students who you've taught lessons.Lessons to respect the bit of bits of the natural world.lessons about balance and beauty of those small fragments of nature, using the mustard seeds as parable.
I'm forever grateful, for this wisdom and grace that I embraced.I pledge to revere and protect you, for you are my source of maintenance and the foundation of man's existence. Let this letter be my humble tribute for my unconscious mutilations to you 'I am so sorry'.And let it also be a testament to the bond we share, forever intertwined with gratitude and love, a partnership eternal.
Yours truly,
Humanity.
