The girl in the frame
The rain fell down ever so slowly, I looked out the window to see the leaves and the branches moving along in the winds direction, I watched in silence as the still frame began to move, the car moved in a slow pace, hitting small bumps on the roadway. I knew this road by heart, I passed it every day of my life, I never saw such a lifeless street, it’s been so long ever since I’ve seen life on this street, this street used to be filled with joy and admiration now it’s just filled with sadness and desperation. I reach out to the backseat to find something different, something new, something with life...I opened it to find a little drawing and a note, it was colorful other than the sky, the dark and gloomy sky, the drawing was just a small bit of life, but it still brought a small smile to my face, I then placed my fingers on the outline of the drawing and started to strace, i finished off with the last stroke and looked at it once again, my smile still on my face as the car stops. I look up to see nothing but white, I place the drawing down and look around to see that now I'm nowhere, look at what a smile has brought me to, a plane white room, no doors but a book, a small book, a book with a lock, but no key, how ever should I be able to open this book, I look down at my shoes, my bright yellow shoes and noticed something different, my shoelaces were a bright golden yellow, she bent down to untie her shoes, then takes the lace out the last hole she then looks up at the book, then back at the shoelace that is now a key, she tilted her head but didn’t pay any mind she then walked over to the book and opened it to see several words and drawings she smiled at all of the colors she touched it and began to trace it again, the white room was now blue like the picture she smiled as she finished tracing, she turned around to see other people, now that she knows what makes her bright she can now be the perfect drawing with all the colors she ever loved,it’s no longer gloomy now, I’ve finally seen and felt life again, she closed her eyes then opened them again to see that she was in her bed, it was just a dream, a dream that gave me hope, the hope of finding life again.
