The Giver

Thomas D Clark

She gave me her shoulder when I cry.
She gave me hope when I wanted to die.
She gave me a friend when I was alone.
She sent me her love and gave me a home.
She gave me understanding when I was in need.
I needed to grow she planted the seed.
She gave me peace when I was in doubt.
I was ready to drown but she pulled me out.
I thought she gave me all for one woman could give.
But then she gave me her life so through her I could live.
