The Last Stand
It hit... him hard
like fists... of stone
An arrow... through... his heart
releasing... his soul
Knocking... him down
down... to... the ground
Crawling through... the mud
and blood...
Leaning on... a tree
to regain... his stance
Standing tall...
showing... no pain
To prove...
he's still... a man...
Three more... heartbeats...
then none...
Into the dust
from whence he came,
He speaks
from beyond the grave...
The epitaph reclaims...
I am... still... a man.
