The One
Some people say that there is one special person in the whole world
that is your only one, your soul mate that you are to spend eternity with. Very few actually meet their one, but what if you have met your one and either something happened to take him/her away from you,
or for some reason you let them go, only to realize later what you had. What do you do? What CAN you do? These are questions repeatedly asked to oneself in moments of regret and depression.
Trying to rationalize what happened to the extent to where you start thinking of ways that you could have changed things. Each idea, no matter how hopeless, brings very little levity and after it has passed, a worse, deeper onset of depression hits. The more this happens at a time, the harder it is for the person. Then when finally getting over the spell, thoughts of your one come to mind, like "What are they doing right now?" or "Where are they now?" Each spell of depression lasts from a couple of hours to weeks, maybe longer depending on the person, but the more times it happens, the closer you get to the dark void that dwells in each person. It's where they go during periods of depressions, but not usually stepping over the edge, just standing on it. Once going over the edge you are lost, forever falling in a deep black void, a space that was once filled by the one. It's hard to come back, almost impossible, but not totally impossible. You have to want to come back. It's up to you since it is your life and it is your decision to make, no one else's. Others may help, but they cannot force you, for it they do, it will drive you away, further into the void. Even if you do come out, you're not out of it completely. You still sit there on the edge, never moving, of the dark, endless void within yourself.
