The Search

A searching to a place untold
A valley deep, is where it's hold
To slowly delve the way between
The peaks that seek to the hide the queen

Then once they're scaled
Torments resolved
To plunder deep
And find the gold

A river flows from waves reformed
The shaking as it is confirmed
Then sounds that would be made I fear
To tremble at the very ear

Encompass all the treasures there
If lost then you put up a flare
To bring to light all you behold
As what you've found is more than gold

Mark Phibbs

I am a single man, separated, living life for my kids.I have written poetry for decades, but never really considered sharing it. My Ex kept some of my books that I filled, saying she would publish after I died.I joined a friendship site, and found so many people that really need a lift. Hence, I decided to attempt to help them with my words. My poetry seems to just come to me. Sometimes, I have to fight for the verses, but most times, it is just there. Not sure of the source, but, be it dark, or light, it rears it's head. Sadly I lose a lot of it, due to lack of recording media when inspiration hits.I hope you enjoy what I write. I know that I have been able to help some, and I hope to continue to do so.There is no greater joy, than to change someones mood from sad to happy. more…
