Memory

I wish I could plant a forest
where every tree is a memory
that we share.
mostly good and not bad.
then you and I
can live there
off the grid,
just us,
living amongst ourselves
and every moment
that made us...

I'm My Own Epitaph

me,
a cemetery of dreams,
each one a headstone
weathered by
the acid rain
of reality.
i've tried to forget,
to let the dirt
of time cover them,
but the itch persists –
a nagging sense
that I must exhume
the remnants,
...

Marissa Mae

the bathroom,
she held the evidence
of their failure,
a crimson-stained
wad of toilet paper,
like a tiny,
defeated flag.
the sound of the faucet,
a cold,
unforgiving drizzle,
echoed through her skull.
she thought of all the...

The City Of Resonate Flesh

you are looking for
is already in you,
a city of echoes,
where every street
leads to the same
doorstep of skin.
you already are

a constellation
of scars and longing
mapping the terrain
of your own...

Inner Peace

is my conviction
that there is no way
to arrive at the shore
without surrendering
to the undertow.
peace is the way
the waves crash
in my chest,
a relentless
pounding.
i've tried to chart
a course through
the turbulent
waters of my...

I love everything you write. The line "I don't want anyone to see me the way I saw you" is a fantastic expression of the speaker's desire to avoid being seen as deeply and intimately as they saw this other person. For me, I interpreted it as a fear of being truly understood or exposed, or a desire to maintain a sense of control over how they're perceived. Well done, my friend.

I wanted the poem to be short and sweet. Essentially, so many conversations simply have no meaning. People talk and talk but they talk about nothing. Thank you for your comment and advice
