Analysis of The Last Knight

Though he lived and dined among us,
Yet his lover knew him not
With the nights and days of passion
He only with no one fought.

A grateful giver, he encountered
Friends to eat his meat and meade,
Gathering intel on him quietly,
To slay him till the sun is reed.

When his Love was rejected
He turned to the the windy Night
The sea his intimate speech engine
Wiped the white noise from his Mind.

In the shadow of Religion
Truth and Beauty cursed his raim
Challenged he each sober doubter
Who drank shallow draughts of sunless shame.

First upon his path stood Ignorance,
Intruder in a mind unknown
Stabbed the knight in lonely hours
With invisible rods and cones

Quietly he searched for piety
In spring and winter leaves alike
Even the bark of the nearby teak tree
Shaped its cracks to frame her might

Double bent like a leper
Over the holy book he chose
To stand his sword in bloodless savety
And worshipped the eternal rose.

Constantly was he emptied
Of all horizons body glain
A shell in the wind of the Almighty
A conqueror in his quarry slain.

When Beauty was but money’s wing
And Truth was but another thing
Every sinner was accepted
To kneel and drink at the holy spring.

All he knew were flames that haunted
Preacher Mason Sons alike
Daughters turned into Mothers wanted
Children were the source of light.

With no war against the conquered people
“Let it be!”  they all descried
Let the king of men hang from the steeple
His daughter be the Devil’s bride.

Unity is what they wanted
Unity is what they got
Filth and mire turned the flame green-granted
Where Egypt’s clearblue left its quire.

The Aryan race was reinvented
The Republique a guillotine
The renumbered bible pages
Chose Israel to mark its grin.

Why go against the tide they tottered
Be wise and even now at your end on His side
The Almighty is the one who has bartered
Men and Gods and Beast alike

When all are joined in holy union
To the selfsame goal to cree
Wherefore struggleth your feeble
Knights round table fantasy

He the last of men who knew ETH
Worshipped her and her alone
The one for whom each prophet bleedeth
The one dark holy moonbeam’s home

As his continent fell around him
He stood over like a shade
A statue firm and holy
Over the sacred ended Tome

Until he appeared as Merlin
Centuries far from war and drone
One man saw him and her only
ETH was born in modern Rome.

Now with this here story we must
Step towards some ancient know
A knight who with his shadow only
Survived the apocalyptic snow

There is no more fight in him they say
Who’ll never his fury b’row
A man who didn’t step aside but only
Gave shade to words as words must go.
People rise with words and beliefs unholy
Deeds follow and darken fields of gro’ss
Tired they fade or slain to crony
Starved till bones are all that show.

He the knight believed his armor
Only was that holy word
Yet fought he none None suppressed he
Only  went where he must go.

Nowhere shall we reach tomorrow
If in his footsteps we do grow
Nowhere is god’s heaven-borrow
In man’s bleeding chest asow.

In modern times the modern ways afford us
To relinquish faith and shame
But to know that he will exist
And erase no one’s name.

The war of tomorrow doesn’t exist
It is a Dream that plagues us all
One belief that God is surpassed
And man and beast and fallen shroud
From the wisest to the meanest
Shall walk together in the crowd.
