Analysis of THE BONE COLLECTOR
Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)
A ghoul-like creature
Taking people by surprise,
Steals away their bones.
The bone collector
Takes to devour human bones,
From living people.
Only living bones
Are good enough for this fiend,
Leaving people dead.
The boneless corpses
Tell of the bone collector's,
Arrival in town.
Nowhere can be safe
When the Collector comes,
To take his gory trove.
A gruesome treasure
No pirate would ever seek:
The collector's pride.
Puzzled by murders
The police are clueless,
As the Collector kills.
One after another
Boneless corpses are found,
Still, none understands.
Till the collector
Heads for another place,
Leaving the town in fear
