Analysis of IN THE CRYPT
In the crypt foul creatures lurk
Through the shadows to slowly creep,
Chewing, crunching, slurping rudely
As nearby unwary humans sleep.
In the mire of slime and ichor
Chomping on mortal remains,
Sleeping people could not believe
How foul the creatures, night contains.
Creatures feasting through the night
On dripping corpses of the dead,
Gore-excreting carcases
From which all life and soul have fled.
In a crypt upon a dark hill
Loathsome creatures slinking by
Hoping soon to feast upon
Lonely passers in the night:
Solo travellers unaware
That graveyard creatures prowl nearby,
Lurching from inside a crypt
Slinking, sliding through the mire.
Broken coffins reveal their wares
To the eyes of hungry creepers,
Reaching up to tear ‘way shrouds
Of these poor eternal sleepers.
In the crypt dark creatures lurk
And in the night foul deeds are done,
Slurping, sloshing at human remains
An unspeakable feast has begun.
