Analysis of OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF GRAVES

Down in sunken crypts
Ghoulish creatures stir,
Concrete graves crack open
Bony arms push through the earth.

Out of long-forgotten graves
Skeletal creatures climb,
Rotten flesh hanging from bones
Puss oozing from withered limbs.

Up cracked concrete stairs
Horrid visions crawl,
Out toward the upper world
Up from their sunken hall.

Up among the gravestones
Ghoulish fiends now feed,
Upon the bones of other dead
For nourishment they need.

A dry crunching of bones
Fills the dark night air,
As from a nearby gravesite
Late mourners turn and stare:

Staring at ghastly visions
The mourners turn and flee,
Never looking backward
For fear of what they’ll see.

Mewling like a dying kitten
Fills this mournful place,
As ghoulish creatures feast
On remnants of the human race.

Night monsters feeding
Within this necropolis,
Feeding on rancid entrails
Mewling in utter bliss.

Then as the dawn does break
Back towards the grave they head,
Down to the crypt they crawl
Back to the land of the dead.
