Analysis of THUS ENDS THE REIGN OF ERROR!

Thus ends his reign of terror
As the tyrant’s evil reign
Is brought down by the people.
Thus ends the reign of error
At the tyrant’s seven-year fall
From his evil steeple.

Thus ends his reign of terror
As the evil tyrant’s bane
Is brought down by the masses.
Thus ends the reign of error
As the evil tyrant’s juggernaut
Once and for all crashes.

Thus ends his reign of terror
As this man, most surely insane
Falls from public favour.
Thus ends his reign of error
Gone the evil anti-Christ,
Replaced by a new saviour.

Thus ends his reign of terror
Of this man with no brain,
Who made this state his own stage,
Thus ends his reign of error
Of the ring-master-cum-chief clown,
As the voters show their rage.

About this poem

Jeff Kennett, the stupidest man to ever be premier of Victoria, came to power after John Caine and Joan Kirner had all but bankrupted the entire state. The result was that for three state elections Kennett refused to mention any election policies during the run-up period to the election. So Kennett can honesty claim that he is the only Victorian Premier to not break a single election promise.
