Analysis of THE GRUESOME 20

When the Gruesome 20 start to gather
Then you know they’re making evil plans,
Plans to help the greedy fascist elite
By gravely robbing from the common man.

And when the anti-fascist's rally
The media puts them quickly in their place,
By lyingly calling them anti-capitalists
Their morals have gone without a single trace.

The anti-fascists fight for human good
But evil forces ever rule the day,
With governments and media in cahoots
Truth simply cannot find a way:

A way to reach the common man
In time for him to think or act,
The media always does an evil job
Concealing from us all much-needed facts.

As capitalists fight for goodness
Stormtroopers start wielding great batons,
To fight for wrong and keep good down
To terrorise and move the heroes on.

For evil forces rule the world today
And only mega-big business is allowed,
Human freedoms and individualisms
Are restricted and the people are cowered.

The Gruesome 20 do not support the truth
And give the populace little hope,
Democracy is quickly dying out today
And freedom now has very little scope.

Terrorists rule most “free” countries
The Gruesome 20 is in firm command,
Blighting all the world around, so it seems
At the sweep of their evil hands.

For terror is now a way of life
In this foul universe today,
Freedom’s loss is too great a price
But it seems the price we have to pay.

Big business is assuredly the enemy now
The enemy of truth and democracy,
And though we hope for justice soon
Justice is nowhere we can see.

The Gruesome 20 fight to help the mega-rich
Big business, and gross tax-evaders,
And when the poor dare beg succour too
We discover succour is no more in favour.

So only the wrong now have any rights
The rest of us it seems can all starve,
And with the help of the media flunkies
The Gruesome 20 are all still at large.

The Gruesome 20 always stand for evil
Goodness now will never be tolerated,
The poor man starving in the streets
Is robbed to help multi-national tax violators.

No more can poor men dream of hope
No more can we dare dream of freedom,
As the Gruesome 20 conspire against us
Our final hopes most surely are all gone.

THE END

About this poem

I can only imagine that Australia (a politically unimportant nation with no world power at all) gets into the G-20 because of our crawling attitude towards America. The U.S.A. likes low-life grovellers like the Brits and Aussies, but cannot stand nations like Canada and France who dare to stand up to American bullying. By comparison, the political motto in Canberra is, "See a dirty American backside; lick it clean for them!" [Actually I cleaned up that last bit!]
