Analysis of PISCINE TERRORS

Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)

Piscine terrors are haunting the seas
Watching for single human beings,
Swimming unwarily within the reach
Of these malignant aquatic fiends.

Malevolent creatures swimming below
A dinghy with fishermen within,
Leisurely casting their fishing lines
Blissfully, casually, unsuspecting.

Unsuspecting of the horror closing in
Upon their tiny wooden seacraft,
Zooming straight toward the boat
Heading on a lethal collision path.

Leviathan creatures swarm around
The remains of the tiny boat,
Hoping to feed upon the flesh
Of anyone, they find still afloat.

Below the wreck maleficent beings
Swim down to the inky depths,
Hoping to find the fresh corpses
Of fishermen who met their deaths.

Piscine terrors are haunting the waters
Around a small sea locked fishing town,
Hoping to drag fishermen to their doom
Then devour them after they drown.
