Analysis of THE SILENT ONES

The silent ones creep in darkness
Lurking just outside your sight,
For just a second, you see a flicker
Then they vanish into the night.

Silently they are following any
Whom the find outside in the dark,
Plotting, planning, quietly stalking
Like some kind of ghastly land shark.

Silent wraiths haunting the night
Like ghosts of the now long dead,
Hoping soon to find lone travels
Outside at night, not safe in bed.

Gliding softly like silk sheets
They slide toward unsuspecting folk,
Trying to trap them, to envelope them
To drag them down in night's evil cloak.

The silent ones creep in darkness
Hoping to wrap themself round your face,
To slowly asphyxiate you to death
Until your life's gone without a trace.

Slinking round your unlit house
They hope to find you all alone,
For they are afraid of couples
Preferring to find you on your own.

In the dark and sinister night
They seek to smother and slowly kill,
Choosing innocents over villains
Selecting those who are frozen still.

Although they rarely show themselves
The silent ones love to see your fear,
As the dark moon is slowly rising
And they silently are creeping near.
