Analysis of Slow Poison

I sold my well-being.
For a fair price I might add.
Envy would’ve stopped this transaction.
Luckily I turned my back on what lurks in my shadows.

Now forced to understand my misery..
I perform these tricks with ease.
I step on stage, and people test their best lies against me.

Slipping me words of praise.
It’s all just slow poison.

Is there a cost too high for indulgence?
Peace of mind never brought me an audience like Pride has.

Humility offered me nothing but omission in their minds.

I bought my ticket toward destiny.
When time shows up to walk me to my exit, I shall have escaped it’s burden.

By having my choice of fate.
