Analysis of FROM OUT OF THE DEEPS

From out of the murky deeps
Aqueous beings slowly emerge,
Coming forth to walk on the land
Spreading outward, an evil scourge.

Giant creatures all teeth and bristles
That eat their way through all they find,
Animal, vegetable, or even mineral
Wolves, cats, cacti, even humankind.

Leviathan piscine abominations
That have adapted to walk upon land,
Like massive green scaly battleships
Against which almost nothing can stand.

Snapping at any living thing that comes
Within grasp of their evil squid-like beaks,
Pecking, tearing, eviscerating everything
That foolishly comes within their reach.

Suckered tentacles that they shoot out
Like serpents slithering through a forest,
Grasping at anything within their focus
Then pulling them into a gruesome death.

From out of the blue-green deeps
Repulsive aquatic monsters ascend,
Traversing across the grass and sand
Too fiendish for humans to comprehend.

Up onto the land, these horrors climb
Then across hot desert sands, they crawl,
Devouring everything within their path
As through the verdant forest, they sprawl.

Determined to leave nothing alive
As they crawl across the dusty ground
Moving from the deserts and forests
Until reaching densely populated towns.
