Analysis of Thanksgiving Prayer
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I thank my God remembering you,
Always in every prayer of mine;
Making my prayer as I construe,
Causing the Lord of glory shine.
Your fellowship in the Gospel,
From the first day until today;
Who does good work for the people,
Knows Jesus and how to obey.
It is right for to feel this way,
Because I hold you in my heart;
Partakers of grace as I pray,
In my defense not to depart.
For the Lord is my witness,
How I yearn for affection;
Because the spiritual fitness,
For combatting the affliction.
And it is my prayer that your love,
May keep abounding more and more;
Knowing that wisdom from above,
Sound judgment always at the core.
You approve what is excellent,
Be sincere and without offense;
The future is not turbulent,
And people may learn commonsense.
Be filled with fruit of righteousness,
That is coming through Jesus Christ;
To the glory of God will bless,
With praising that keeps you enticed.
