Analysis of THE DARK PLACE (2)

The dark place is just this side
Of a horrid, sunken dell,
A place where only losers go
It's just outside of Hell.

Only darkness thrives there
And only stunted plants will grow,
Horrid trees with strangling vines
Wisteria vines or mistletoe.

Loathsome creatures creeping
Throughout the forest black,
Hoping to hunt down strangers
Foolishly wandering off life's track.

The dark place is an evil place
Where nothing decent is born,
Stillborn or stunted things only
Which fill sane folk with total scorn.

Nothing normal resides there
Within this awful darkened place,
Some people call it the underworld
Others just say it's a total disgrace.

The dark place has no warm
Only the frigid winter cold,
The sun does not dare shine there
Daylight has been put on hold.

A hopeless empty place
Where only lonesome wastrels dwell,
Lives lost in the storms of life
Who settle for this lonely Hell.

THE END
