Analysis of Cracks and shadows
Morning spring 2000 (Kolkata)
crack a glass as a crack could be
plough a furrow as needs to grow a tree
shatter and batter it to edges and spikes
water it daily as it grows in height
careful though cracks but sharp they are
as it grows it spreads its roots too far
they cut through flesh however they break
roots digging the ground and a shadow o'erhead
too dark a shadow too toxic a shade
the wounds gave scars that would never fade
but like a tree it was, as a tree it'd fall
scars they'll stay but more skin will crawl

About this poem
So i recently had a breakup and i just don't know how to channel this grief. Somehow writing seemed to be a good way to express my mind. It was a mutual breakup, yet no matter when you shatter a glass, your hands are bound to get cut and a sadness will prevail over you like a shadow. Not so skilled with words but hope you like it....
