Analysis of Beth
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
How can a man keep himself pure,
By guarding it as to the Word;
Taking heed and merely ignore,
The temptations you may have heard.
With my whole heart I am seeking,
Not to meander from His Law;
For in prayer I will be speaking,
Confession for an evolved flaw.
I have stored His Word in my heart,
That I might not sin against Him;
Continually to impart,
For building up spiritual vim.
Blessings are coming from the Lord,
For He has taught me His statutes;
So I remain in one accord,
Checks and balance of attributes.
For with my lips I do declare,
All the rules that comes from His tongue;
Because I proclaim as to share,
The delightful Law being flung.
I rejoice in His evidence,
To delight as much in His wealth;
That is building up my defense,
Giving me my spiritual health.
I meditate on His precepts,
Fixing my eyes upon His way;
Conformed to all of His concepts,
So I will never go astray.
I will delight in what He taught,
And will never forget His Word;
For everything that I have sought,
Being straight forward and not slurred.
