Analysis of Remembrance Isn’t what it used to be
Remembrance Isn’t what it used to be
I’m sat watching the great band of the Royal Marines
remembering my dad and his mates, who were at that
scene
Ready to serve their country for freedom, for King and
Queen
Knowing they volunteered to fight an enemy,
inhumanely mean.
They are screening the Royal British Legion festival of
remembrance
on the telly to entertain us and allow all to show the
fallen reverence,
though who is at the Royal Albert Hall, who should not
be there at all?
our cowardly Prime Minister, with self serving desire
sought to administer,
against the hard battles won in awful wars, an evil
Brexit, most sinister.
When men & women gave their lives for peace and for
precious freedom
to unite all Europe to be a force for good, for life and
honest reason.
What have they done, these evil Tory men, dividing us
and countries when,
the world needs a healthy and strong, democratic
European Union,
to maintain balance, safe haven and a counter to those
who threaten,
to create acts of self harm, a cynical vandalism against
our freedom.
We have become exposed to darker and more evil
foreign threats
than any membership of the European Union could upon
us beget.
When you stand to cheer the NHS, or wear a poppy on
your breast,
remember well what we have lost and who has caused
such tragic loss.
I will always wear my poppy with pride and great
thankfulness
to those who serve us and do our dirty work, which I
must profess
let’s us all speak freely without fear, reprisal, or of evil
arrest.
So remember well as you sit at rest, to give thanks, lest
we regret.
Boris cast us aside while he, paraded as a human being
of integrity.
It makes me sad at the cenotaph to see, those who rule
having a laugh
at our expense and disrespectfully insulting those, who
did not last.
It always make me sad to see, those who stand,
pretending to offer dignity
but do not think of those who gave to keep us free, from
fascist depravity.
I will always thank those who made sacrifice, so I can
sleep in peace at night.
It’s not about God save the Queen, or of being there just
to be seen
But to be of honest and good intent, to honour those
whose lives were spent
to give us hope of a world from which to gain, a life
worth living without pain.
On Remembrance Sundays give thanks to those who
served us well
who did not know of climate change, or the perverse
political desire to sell,
to give away our precious environment who on self
serving avarice are intent.
I wish I had the humility, the intelligence , the strength
and the integrity
to do real good within this world, which needs more
help than I can invent.
It’s a dreadful mess this world at risk, of falling over a
climate disaster cliff
A world where greedy men predominate, just to selfishly
accumulate
obscene wealth unnecessary and mean, depriving those
who will die unseen
because the focus has been so wrong and will perish us
all from their own swan song
They do not care a jot it seems, for humanity, the poor,
the land, sea and streams.
Are they so devoid of imagination that they cannot see
their degradation.
I find people wonderful, precious, gifted with abilities
and great intention
Who deliver up such wonders, support and love from
dogged determination
To do well for the unfortunates in our nation, or have the
creative talent
which inspires us all to strive for something of a higher
human intent
Who paint, or write, who play music that restores the
soul, against all the odds
That politicians try to claim as their own, just to get
votes, the evil sods.
