Analysis of SO DARK THE NIGHT

So dark is the night
That it seems to cast an eerie spell,
Lost alone and lonely now
In your own private Hell.

Shadows leaping out at you
Though there seems to be no light,
Are they merely shadows?
Or unseen creatures of the night.

Eerie sounds pervade the night
And freeze you to the spot,
Monsters from primordial times
That Man has long forgot?

Twilight has come and gone
Leaving you in pitch black,
Snarling sounds from unseen beasts
Perhaps readying to attack?

So dark is the night-time
That you cannot see a thing,
Is there something in the alley
Just about to spring?

Night sounds fill your mind
With visions from long ago,
Visions of reptilian fiends
Some that Man has never known.

Night-time is the wrong time
To be outside all alone,
Monsters real or imaginary
Are following you home.

So dark the evil night
Which chills your every breath,
Luring you to the unknown
Perhaps towards your death.

THE END
