Analysis of When You're Not Here

Paul Thomas 1972 (New Hampshire)

When You’re not here….

I speak to you ….in my heart…in my mind…
Unspoken feelings…that silence betrays….
I ache for a love…that desires…all of you…
When you’re not here…
I wait for a sun…that will never rise…
A night…that will never dawn
Since you’re not here…at the closing of my day…

If only... you existed beyond my thoughts…
And this chasm … that stands between us…
How can we ever find our way…to each-other’s arms?
A battle …in this abyss… that can never be fought…
Only if…my love…only if…
When you’re not here… at the beginning of my day..
